Well, I guess this is it.
I’m at the Philadelphia airport enjoying my last American beer, watching the Germany v. Spain game. I don’t know when I’ll next have access to teh Internets, but probably not for at least these first 9 weeks while I’m in training. I’m kind of excited about training because (and I know I sound like Pants) it will be like mini-school with language classes, hanging out with all the other Peace Corps kids, and living with a host family.
I miss you all already! Sooooooooo, you should all write me letters. My address is on the “about me” page. Start writing. Now.
So glad to know you made it safely. Love the photo of your group, everyone looks so excited and energetic. Will be sending some snail mail until we can be in touch after your 9 wks in training. Miss your face….glad to have your arrival pic! Love ya…momma and the fam.
Curtis just poste Lucy Michelle and the Velvet Leppelles are in town. Misses that you can’t go….one of your favorite local groups says. Misses you , I guess, just like us.
Hey kiddo…Daddy and I jst wnet to Central Park to hear the steel drum badn “Steel Doin it” A bunch of 50 somethings who like to rock. Eclectic mix of music and we even know a few of the bandmates. Glass of wine on the beach with sun going down over Lake Michigan. Emma had her Knee surgery today and doc thinks he cleaned things up quite a bit and she should feel pretty pain free. Noah at Trine for a b ball camp. Jete sitting on porch with no tehter and hanging with us…very cool. I see the big lake and think of you with all that sand. Watery wishes coming your way. Just found out one of my book club friends has a son who is PCV in Kazaksthan sp? She is making a trip to see him for his one yr anniversary in August. We gotta make a trip to see ya. Hi! I just talked to you on FB but don’t know when you’ll get that. Probably the same time you get this. We’re starting to plan the wedding and I’m sad that you won’t be there, but we’ll totally have to Skype that day so you can kind of be there. I hope you’re having lots of fun with your Peace Corps friends and I’ll bet the village you’re in is pretty cool too. Can’t wait to see pictures!

Well Coast guard is done and it feels like summer is on its way out. The weather says otherwise as it has been quite warm but we can’t say a thing I suppose. Took pups to the beach and did some kayaking. Lake Michigan is 78 degrees. Fabulous! I even got in. As usual, Jete avoided it Ellie barked at the waves and Maddie was in up to her eyes. Fun to watch. Got your computer cover and more pics in the mail today. Cake package shoudl go out at weeks end. found a great hat on line, so just waiting on that. Will call ya this weekend. By now you should know where you are going…excited to hear where you will land. Love Momma
